Starter solenoid question. CC 124
2 Attachment(s)
I'm trying to gather up all the parts to do my electrical restoration for the tractor including all new wiring harness. I need help selecting the right solenoid for my machine. Is this the right one for my 124?
|
The new one on the website isn't the "correct" one for a 124. But it will absolutley work without issue!

Cub Cadet sells that one for around 100 bucks I think. However, there are plenty of aftermarket ones that will work just fine. You should get use to looking up these parts in the manual or online. |
Here is one from one of our sponsors that is aftermarket but built to same size spec etc as the original one.
http://www.pattonacres.com/aftermark...-part-435-008/ Besides that. You could really use just about any single pole solenoid you want. mounting and wires may attach a little differently but will certainly work fine. |
Yea I used a starter solenoid from a model 72 in my 1711 and works just fine! Even a solenoid for a 82 Ford F100 would work in your 124, and could be less expensive. Try the scrap yards for parts too.

And if you go to napa you can get a ford car or truck from the '60's sol
with 3 posts like your picture for less than $10.00. As mentioned one with 2 small terminals will work fine, but you only need 1 small terminal to energize it. Sorry I don't have a napa part number but you can go to napa online and pick one out. Usually they are Echlin like an ST 82 Ebay 323899671279 less than $15.00 if I can find the echlin number I'post it. |
Thanks guys, it doesnt have to be exact correct part. Just want a working one that will bolt in place.
