Favorite mods or additions to your Cub?
 

My wife and I inherited a 149 that needed an engine rebuild. It’ll be done in a few weeks and I’m more than a little excited to have a tractor. We’ve been push mowing and carting everything around with a wheelbarrow ever since we bought our home 4 years ago. So, now that we’ll have a functioning tractor, I want to know what your favorite additions or modifications have been. I have a dump cart, mower deck, and plow. The tractor has a sleeve hitch.

That would very depending on the size of your lawn, terrain, and tasks you want to do.

I’m asking for YOUR favorite additions and mods. Of course it all depends. We all have different situations, preferences, tastes, etc.

I took a pull behind Spring Tooth De-thatcher and and made a custom mount so I could lift it with my sleeve hitch. I have an array of tow attachments, and front end snow removal implements.

Power steering and Cat-0 on my 782.

I'm not much into modifications on my stuff, but I have put the ball bearing upgrade on the steering on a few. I have ag tires on my "all terrain" mower, makes it 10 times more useable for where I go with it to mow. If you are going to run at night, put in LED lights, I've done it on farm equipment and the difference is beyond amazing.

LED headlamps are on my shortlists, along with front wheel bearings and a Ross Steering upgrade.

Backlit amp and oil psi gauges on my 782, fluid filled tires on 782 and 1050, new tires on my 1050.

I agree with everything above, but I also have to add:

1) loader and weight box, throw away your wheelbarrow ��

2) Stone rake and rear blade, great for apple and spring yard clean up.

3) Snow cab

4) Sweepster front broom, I don't know how big your yard is, but works great.

5) Front mounted chipper. (Reduce yard waste size for compost)

6) Box blade works pretty well for driveways and leveling loose dirt.

These will be a good start ! (after you start you can't stop)

The PECO Leaf Vac system has proven to be a very handy attachment for me. It cleans up the yard nicely from leaves and grass clippings on a regular basis. It also serves as a carry all for logs, stone, mulch, bags of salt, etc. putting the weight on the rear axle.
