What is the Negative Battery Cable grounding path on these models? Is is simply from the negative terminal to the frame?
:bigthink: |
That's how it was on my 1210. Run a ground from the Battery to the engine block or starter mount and be happy. :beerchug:

I wasn't for sure on how the grounding was done on those SGT's. That is what I was thinking. I done that to my 1450 and 784. Never had a "roll over" issue. |
On my 782, 1711, 1811 the only ground located on the tractor is the battery to frame ground. On my 1050, there is another ground wire from the frame to engine block, since they have the iso-mounts. My other tractors just have the steel spacers directly mounted to the engine pan to the frame.

On 2 2072’s and 1 1872 that I’ve had my hands on, it was just battery to frame. Negative battery cable was about 10” at the most.

there is also a small ground wire from in the harness that goes onto one of the engine side tin bolts above the starter.
