Opinions on V belts

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on genuine versus aftermarket V belts
My Cub has the belt that does a 90 degree turn and would only ever use genuine but the deck belt genuine or aftermarket , that is the question ?

I use genuine OE belts/parts unless not available.

What I do...........is the Mule Drive belt, that bends 90° and twists, I go OEM. The deck belt, that rotates in the same plane, and runs around the pulleys, I buy a good aftermarket belt(s). Haven't had any issues with that policy.

I always buy OEM belts. Never any issues.

Whenever I can I always use OEM so that I don't have problems, so far
it has been a good strategy. I help a few folks around here with mowers
and every time someone cheaps out on a belt. They end up spending
more money and frustration in the long run.

I agree that this is the best way to go (besides all OEM, which isn't needed for the deck belt).

I've had good luck with Gates green belts and V-Belt guys Kevlar belts. Just my 2 cents but I think the most important issue is the condition of you pulleys and bearings. If you have nasty rusty stuff no matter what brand of belt you use is going to fail.
