CC 1541 Carb Adjustments

It does not seem like the engine is running smoothly so I attempted to adjust the high and low speed jets on the carb...the position of both jets does not seem to make a difference unless of course they are screwed all the way in...Screwing the out seems to have no effect on the RPMs. What am I doing wrong????? Thanks

Time for a carb cleaning.

CC 1541 Carb

Cleaning sound like a good idea. This thing is so old that a rebuild may be in order.....I am unable to locate a rebuild kit, or even a carburator for this Walbro WHG601660. Has anyone had success in finding any info on this carb????? Thanks....

Parts lookup shows...
KH-52-853-23 - Carb
KH-25-757-11 - Carb Kit

If you google the parts remove the KH prefix and use Kohler instead

Kohler 52-853-23
Kohler 25-757-11

1541 Carb

Thanks much for the info......After cleaning the machine runs well but the high speed jet does not adjust as stated in the manual....It could be removed and it wont effect the engine RPM. As well as it runs well I will just leave it alone..Good for a season of plowing.......Keep warm!!!!

Good reading, Use the number on the carb to determine the kit you need.

If it were mine, I'd locate an older Carter/Kohler fully adjustable carb, and ditch that Walbro right in the trash. I've never had a good fixed high speed jet Walbro.

1541 high speed adjustment

It is supposedly an adjustable carb for main and low speed....A friend that has one says that his does the same thing when trying to adjust the main jet....It just does not adjust as the manual states.......Its not easy to find carbs for old equipment....:beatdeadhorse:
