If you need advice, I usually hook it up to the PTO first, then guide it through the pulleys on the front of the mule drive and then I roll it onto the main center pulley of the deck in a CCW fashion using a flathead screwdriver while cranking the pulley around by hand---sometimes I have to reach under the deck and use the blades to get enough leverage to roll the center pulley. FOR SAFETY SAKE, I always disconnect the spark plug whenever I do this!!

Yeah, I do the PTO first, then get it guided thru the two idler pulleys, then the main pulley on the mower deck using the method described.

If you loosen the belt tension nut to the end of the travel on its rod you can usually just roll the belt onto the mower deck pulley with your fingers as you hold it in the pulley and pull the belt along in the direction that would wind the belt onto the pulley.
