129 or 147 ?
I am going to look at a couple cubs today,Looking for opinions on which is a better tractor. pros and cons,Of course condition of them will be most important.I know the 147 is kinda rare, but I dont know how rare a 129 is.
|
The 129 is a wide frame and the 147 is a narrow frame, the 129 has a better steering system. I would go with the 129, if you don't need the extra 2hp. I depends on what you want.

The biggest "pro" for the 129 is the fact that is is a Wide Frame tractor and a lot easier to work on. Other than that, the merits are about equal.

Why wrack your brain deciding which one?
Buy both!!!Heheheheh |
wish I could buy em both,as it might be a trade,3500 watt generator for one.In this economy I cant afford to spend the money. If the deal falls through I also have a possible 100 that might be had.Anyone have any pros or cons on the 100?

Not a thing wrong with 100's. Little tanks that keep on going. :beerchug:

129 rear and deck
Well I had a 129 follow me home today, motor runs good no smoke,But I only have reverse no forward. My question is will the trans out of a 782 iron rear fit right in a 129 with little problem? Also will the mule drive and deck bolt on? and as far as the rear might no forward be a simple fix ?thanks

129
I got the 129

Switch the release valves and see if you have forward and no reverse. If so, you have a bad release valve. No need to swap rearends.

Thanks Matt I dont know for sure how it works,But the tunnel cover was not bolted down and when I removed it there was 2 hex bolt looking things with a plunger thing in the center atop the trans one button was up the other was down I am guessing they are the valves your talking about.I had to remove the driveshaft the coupling at the rear is worn so when I fix it I will try again.Sound like the problem?
