Spring update HDS 3225
Well... I know not to use Chinese bearings for the blade rotors again. The old bearings were completely worn out and rusty from PO. I replaced them with cheap chinese bearings and had one fail the second time I went to mow my 1 Acre yard. I had them greased up properly, the deck was pretty quiet and cut great. The second time I went to mow the PTO belts burned rubber and my engine cut out. thinking something got stuck in a blade I went to check the rotors, two spun normally, the third was frozen solid. I checked and saw nothing in the blade, so I pulled it apart. Attaching image... The rust is from leaving it out overnight in the rain after pulling it apart. the other bearing still had some grease on it so I assume it burned off the grease I had packed in it.
After driving around a bit, the GT seeps some drive fluid from the differential at the back gasket. I have a gasket on order and will take the opportunity to make sure the locking differential is tight. The ignition switch started acting up and is getting replaced as well. Paint comes next.
Other than that I love it!
