Default Mule Drive belt rubbing on 50A deck.

I noticed that the mule drive belt is lightly rubbing one of the clevices(?) on the deck. It seems like the deck is not centered on the tractor. Hopefully these pics help. It was hard to get a clear shot of the issue. One side of the mule drive has been bolted to the frame, and the other side has not. Is this part of the issue? I was hoping to get a speed up pulley that is smaller. Maybe that will add a little clearance here since the pulley will be smaller?

Thanks for any help. Hopefully these pics give enough of a idea what is going on.

Thanks,

Mike

If there isn't a need for that bolt, I'd remove it. That should straighten it out some. And check the pulleys in front, make sure they are spaced correctly on the mule drive. Just my .02.

Mike

On a 50C the center pulley is offset to the right if your looking at the tractor from the front the belt on the left side should be to the right of the front hanger and the belt to the right should also be to the right of the right hand hanger. You have to put the belt on before you hang the deck.

On a 50A the belt goes between the hangers. They are not quite in the same location.

Matt looking at his pic I think the belt is on the wrong side of the hanger, am I wrong? I'd like to see a pic straight on from the front center.

Yeah, you are...there's no way that's not going to rub even more if it's on the other side.

I will try to take a more straight on pic this weekend when I get it out to mow. I'll take some other shots of the deck as well.

Thanks for the help,

Mike

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
