Default Well I bought the 2072

I listened to you guys on the other thread and I went ahead and bought the 2072. I sold my 108 and 149 to fund the 2072. I picked it up yesterday.I'm sick so I spent today at the doctor so I haven't got to mess with it much. I gave it a bath and did a quick inventory of things to fix. When I went to look at it the first thing I checked was the rear end bolts. They were all tight but one of the top ones is missing so I mentioned it to the seller and he ended up giving me a parts tractor to make up for the missing bolt. I got the 2072 and the parts frame for $1050 plus it cost me $52 in fuel to pick it up. It runs good doesn't smoke, the hydro is quiet but a little low on fluid. The front tires leak off and I found a pin hole in one. It leaks engine oil a little. It been sitting outside so some of the electrical connections are corroded and it has the black mold on the paint. I haven't run the serial to see what year it is yet. Serial #784969 Model 149730100. The PO had put a 60" deck under it that's pretty solid. Its a little noisy so I bet it needs greasing. Well here are the Pictures Let me know of any other issues to check on this model.

This is the missing bolt

This is the parts frame its a Model 143-653-100 I have to look it up

Congrats on the 2072!
Looks like a 1989 built and the parts tractor is a cyclops.

Yea. He's OK but a little hard to trade with. Not very freindly and a little odd turned. He has 2 more still listed and a bunch out beside his building. He has a complete 108 I saw and a few more wide frames. This tractor is a little rougher than I had hoped but I think it has potential its just gonna take some time and $$.

Default 2072 Update

Just a little update. Thanks to Dwayne and Frank the bolts are out!! The rear end is back in and almost back together. Luckily none of the holes were wallowed out and everything tightened up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
