Hi Guys, I have an issue with my PTO or maybe switch. I have a Series 2000 model 2155. About 5 or 6 weeks ago I engaged the PTO and nothing happened. I tapped the PTO and it engaged and worked fine until yesterday. When I pulled the switch nothing happened .I tapped on it and it did nothing. I tapped it a lot, nothing. When I turned on the key and pulled out the PTO switch there was no clicking sound. I checked the ohms on the PTO today and it showed 3.7 which should be good. So that leaves the switch. I'm not sure how to determine if there's a problem with the switch. On the PTO there's a blue wire and a red wire. I checked the continuity of the blue wire to the switch and nothing, no beep. The red wire must go to the ignition switch I'm guessing. The PTO switch does not appear to have any melting issue. I'm stumped at this point and I hope someone here is familiar with this problem. Unfortunately I'm in Fl and the grass still needs cutting. I have my 127 but one of the spindle pulleys need replaced. Just can't get ahead.
I appreciate any help that you can give. Thanks, Mike

They had 2 wiring diagrams for the 2155 depending on ser # here are both of them. I assume that you're sitting in the seat when you try to engage the PTO?

My Dad disconnected that wire under the seat right after he bought it. So really didn't matter I guess.

Thanks Sam, Nothing showed up yet but I ran across a thread where Ironman showed a link to www.cubcadetpartsnmore.com where there was a good diagram. I'll have to do more research on how to check the pto switch.

![]() So do you think the PTO has a short inside keeping it from engaging?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
