147 mowing again
The last thing on the list of to dos to get mowing again was a new front tire as the old one had the tube showing through. The tire arrived from Miller yesterday, so I took it to a local tire place for install. (figured it was easier since I don't have any tools myself.) He didn't charge me for the swap (remembering to pay that forward!) as he told me that he likes doing small wheels/tires and doesn't get many of them.
After an install of the wheel, I got set to mowing. Mind you this is the first run of the Cub since I acquired it last month with PTO and tire problems. It really took me back to childhood- if you read my last post you'll remember that I grew up on a 125 and really haven't run it since the last time I blew it up about 6 years ago and dad had us use the 782. I had to re set the mowing height so it'll match my push mower that I still use for tight places. Other than that, I'm very impressed with the way it cut. I'm just disappointed I don't have a bigger yard to keep going.     I never minded push mowing, but I love the way the grass looks cut w/ a 3 bladed CC vs. a single blade push mower.  I was also impressed with the way a 40 year old mower cut the yard vs. a 1 year old push mower. My back yard is in a low spot so it is often soggy and the ground takes a while to get back to being hard. I cut my neighbors back yard and hers is worse- a lot of grass is gone due to water- I was impressed how much flotation the Cub has- only sank about 3 inches or so. 3 days ago this was still water.  Here is the pic of my new tire. It only has 10 lbs in it (as per the manual) but the tire looks flat, and the manufacturer says a max of 28. Anyone have this particular tire, and have an opinion of the PSI?
