I had the rear end out of this tractor and installed all 4 rags then slid the rear in place. I started all 6 bolts and noticed that the rags were deformed from being too compressed. These are new OEM but the new are 0.06 thicker that the old. The difference of all 4 would add almost a 1/4 of an inch to the total length. I will try and tighten 2 on the front to try and pull the shaft forward some.

The front looks about right- I wouldn't tighten that any more. You don't want them too tight, as they'll squish and have a short life.

I had the same problem with my 782D...I had to make the driveshaft twice because I couldn't get 4 discs in it with the first one I made.

Thanks, Matt. I don't see any other way to get them in with this shaft and be correct. I will make a new one about one rag joint thickness shorter.
