An ebay vendor is advertising "Gator" blades for a 44" Cub Cadet deck. I asked whether they will fit a 44C deck. They responded that if it's a 44" deck, they'll fit.
Does that sound right? Will a blade set for any Cub Cadet 44" deck fit the 44C? Trying to get mulching blades. Need to get my leaves chopped up before snowfall.

The only difference between the two decks is the belt size of the PTO pulley on the deck.

Yes, but doesn't Cub Cadet have a later MTD 44" deck? That's what I'm concerned about. The old Cub decks use blades that only have a spindle hole in the middle. From the pics, these I'm looking at have a spindle hole and two side bolt holes, like an MTD blade, so I was concerned they might not fit, or they might interfere. Some of those MTD decks use a shorter blade in the middle. I just didn't trust the vendor's assertion that they will fit "any 44" deck".

Call this place. I am sure they will know the differences and fix you up with the right blade.
http://tewarehouse.com/Catalog/Cub-Cadet_5 or go straight to the horses mouth and fill out their order info sheet for the right blade. http://gatorblade.com/order.html

Tell me why you won't use them. I have heard good things about them, especially from those who don't bag their clippings and leaves. I'm mostly concerned with handling leaves before snow falls, but I expect I'll be cutting grass with them come springtime.
PM coming.

Vince, I screwed up replying to your PMs, so you probably never got them. Check your email. I want those blades you have.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
