Default quite possibly the largest collection ever?

i stumbled across quite possibly the largest GT collection in the state this morning. i have heard about this guy for several years now, but seeing is believing. there are 3 abondoned farms, all packed with garden tractors,1500+ tractors. 90% of them are cub, wheelhorse, deere, and simplicity. all the buildings were stuffed full, but the majority of the tractors are rotting away outside. 75% of them ran when they were parked. tons of nice cubs going to waste of all shapes and sizes. wide/narrow frames, gear drives/hydros, several 169's, and even a few IH built supers. there were more tractors and attachments than you could look at. sad to see it all go to waste, he could care less if he sells anything either. if you are ever in whitley county, indiana,p.m. me, and we will see if we can catch up with this guy.

So what does a person do with such a huge treasure? If a person does not use things, lets them rot away, has no intress in them nor anyone in their family or circle of friends - why keep them? I guess I am just not educated enough to understand? SAD!

Share the pleasure of owning a Cub!!!

he may have a handful that he uses, but i don't any that i would say he uses for enjoyment. using them to him is mowing yard. i really think he has a serious "hoard" going on there?

Sounds like he's gotten attached to them and like any other hoader they just can't seem to part with anything. The sad thing is after people pass away the collection gets sold for scrap. Keep in touch with the guy.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
