What you've written doesn't even make sense. Help yourself and the rest of us by spending 10 seconds reading your post before you hit the 'submit' button
![]() I think the answer to your question is, no 782D models had the CI rearend, and the fuel tank from a 782D/882/1512 is different than the one from the 1572/1772. |

well i did read it matt but i edit it i must have hit wrong but to save that and put that one back up. anyway what i trying to ask is on the older cast rearends the dipsticks come up in the front under front of the seat and newer one go up though the back of battery box. Are the diesel tanks on a 782d the ones with cast and aluminum rearends the same with dipstick in differant places.

The only tractor with a CI rear and a dipstick is the 982. No diesel tractor ever had a CI rear from the factory. See my previous post as well...

Can you remove the stick and cap the hole somehow and use a rear cover plate with a plug to fill and check the level?

You'd need to modify the rearend by adding a dipstick from an aluminum rear, and you'd have to use the tank and brackets from a 1572 or 1772, as the 782D tank and mounting brackets are not the same. None of them are going to be easy to find.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
