No rear PTO. Just pulled the plastic off and took it to the quarter car wash. This one is almost mint. Think I'm in trouble, I was going to just fix it and sell it but I think it's a keeper even though I don't need it. Drove it around a little bit and talk about a sweet tractor. Even the mower only needs to have the blades sharpened.

That definitely looks like a keeper! Have fun with it.

That's great news! Awesome score and a better price!

Nice buy, it really looks good. I didn't realize there was an 1882 SGT. Was the stock engine an 18 HP Magnum, or Command?

Wouldn't re-powering with a Kohler Command 20 or 22 HP make more sense than the Briggs?

That was a sweet buy. The hitch is worth more than what you paid for the tractor. The 1882 came with 18 HP Kohler Mags. Looks like it found a good home.

Update on the 1882, just sold it to cub123 and it's on it's way to it's new home. So now I'm back down to the 1210/1640 Cub, the BX2660 and the JD317 dump tractor with a M12 out of my 1210. Time for a new project. Only reason I sold the 1882 is that the 1210 does the small stuff and the BX does the nasty stuff.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
