I have not had to use mine, but sitting on the tractor, there is a lever between your legs on the right side of center. I think you lift and lock it to move the tractor. Just dont move it too fast, like towing it or something. I would not trust the disengagement for that. Someone else here may know better than me, my old K341 so far cranks every time.

If the one your picking up doesn't have the handle that means it's got the automatic release valves installed. My 1650 has the automatic release.

Any tricks to get the machine to roll, engine off? Can you disengage the hydro or is there another way?

Thanks again,
Bill
I use my kids old snow board under the rear tires and just slide it.

OK - I picked-up the 1650 today. There was no relief valve lever on the tractor to disengage the hydro, so it had the auto relief valve and rolled fairly easily onto my trailer. I was concerned that given the tractor had seen some time in the weather and the disc brakes were rusty, rolling might be a problem.

The guy I bought it from assured me the tractor ran and all it needs are new ISO mounts - we'll see.

Where do I get the ISO mounts? Is this something I purchase from the forum sponsors or are they a CC dealer item and what can I expect to pay?

Hopefully I'll be pulling the engine in a few weeks and doing a cradle mod too - which I have read about.

The serial numer indicates the tractor was made in late 1976.

Lastly, the tag on the mower deck said 440 Rotary Mower. This deck looks like a 48ish inch deck. I thought the deck for these tractors was a 50C or maybe a 50A. Would this deck not be the original?

Lots of questions coming.

Thanks for everyones input/advice.
Bill

Congrats on the 1650 Bill!

Please post pics of it when you get a chance.

The iso's can still be bought through the dealer. They are pricey though!
Check around but the last I looked they were in the $17-20 range each!

Congrats Bill! Like Mike said your dealer will have them or you can call one of your great site sponsers listed at the top of every page and get them there.

You can get the mounts from either a Cub Cadet dealer or the forum sponsors. Plan on about $100 for four new mounts and two new snubbers.

That tag says 44C, and is not the original deck; the original would have been a 38A, 44A, or 50A, depending on what it was ordered with new. Most likely the original one rotted out and it was replaced with a used deck.

Yes Congragulations Bill. And feel comforted knowing should you regret this decision to buy the 1650, just push it back on the trailer and drag it down here to North Carolina. I will take it off your hands

It would like to share my garage with my 1650! Maybe Evan won't take that one from me.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
