Hello everyone, I'm Jeff and got my first Cub Cadet in '03 when we purchased this home. I'm up in the far NE corner of Montgomery County, right where Lehigh and berks counties come together.
I have a 1968 125 that I purchased from a co worker that included a 42" cast iron end mowing deck, a Trac Vac system, a QA-42 snow thrower, a set of chains and a 42" dirt/snow blade. I also picked up a 1966 122 with creeper gear from a good friend of mine when he moved his mechanics business. That 122 was purchased by the previous property owner brand new. It now resides exactly 1.8 miles away. I've rebuilt both K-301's in my Cubs and they both run great. I've built a weight bracket that fits on the Trac Vac bracket to hold about 250 lbs of steel plate for snow removal. I've added lights to both and also rear lifts. The 125 has IH spring assist and the 122 has both the IH spring assist plus the Brinly spring assist. I have fluid filled tires on both now too ( 125 has 10.50's and the 122 has 8.50's ). I have also added a 1A tiller, a brinly style adapter for a brinley plow too. Since everybody loves pics, here's some clickable ones the 125 with "goodies" as purchased in '03 ![]() ![]() ![]() The 125 w/ QA-42 in action ![]() Weight bracket & weights ![]() ![]() The "crew" ready for snow duty this year ( the 125 has chains on it now ) plus the Gilson 62 lb wheel weights ![]() ![]() These are my "go to" tractors. I mow every week ( when the grass is growing ) and use them as they were intended. ![]() ![]() Jeff |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
