I bought a 2004 JD GX335 today and I had almost forgotten what it is like to have a "Newer" tractor. It has power steering, power deck lift and of course the forward and backward pedals. It has 290 hours on it and it got a new trans-axle at 180 hours under warranty. It came with a JD dump cart that looks like it wasn't used much. Always been inside so there is no rust or fading of the paint. The seller moved to Atlanta about a year and a half ago and it hasn't been used since. The thing is that it won't do all the tricks my 1811 will do! I plan on selling one of the two but one thing is for sure. I will have power steering one way or the other! I could not believe how easy it was to turn even when in a real tight turn where I had to reverse directions quickly. I can make some money on it so I have to decide what to do. If I sell the JD I might make enough to add PS to my 1811.

Sam, you must have read my mind. I have drooled over the supers that you guys have but down here in Ga. there aren't very many. CC just never made it down here like it did else where. Shipping would be a killer too. Rich at Patterson's is giving me advice on adding PS to my 1811 which might be all that I need. He told me that a JD 318 PS control valve would work on my 1811 and I just missed out on one one ebay by $10. I'll tell you what though, having the foot pedals to go forward and back are really nice when you are operating other devices. One odd thing on the GX335 is that the hydro lift deck has a lower limit stop like our CC's do but no gauge to tell you where it is once it is off of the stop. That little height indicator on the CC is simple and does exactly what it was designed to do. Maybe JD should look at some of these old girls to get some "New" ideas.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
