Maybe some of the carts were outsourced to other Ag compaines or AC "copied" off of IH's cart design?

Or a PO had an AC and realy liked the cart and slapped and Allis Chalmers decal on the side. I like it personally but then again it leaves you to wonder...

Nick,

It looks like a #3 cart but is has the latching mechanism on the tongue.
I just picked one up over the weekend and all the ones I have seen do not have that latching mechanism so not sure it is or not or if someone maybe modified it. Measure the width and length and I can compare to mine.

Well, i cant be certain, but im pretty sure thats an actual Allis Chalmers cart. Simplicity and A/C shared a lot of things since A/C had simplicity make everything for them. Here is a picture of a Simplicity cart just like the one you have found. Even with the latch.

I have a similar one that the PO swears is a Sears cart. It looks identical to those only it has fenders and is a yellowish color.

At one point I was pretty knowledgeable on Sears stuff. I have to say I have never seen one of those in any literature for Sears attachments or equipment. Its quite possible though, that Sears sold it and it was more or less like an Allied product from another company. Who knows, as there was so much being manufactured and labeled by other companies all the time back then.

Those fenders are pretty sweet! They look just like what goes on an IH #2 cart, minus 1/3 of it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
