Default Hello to all from sw Michigan!

I'm a short distance from So. Haven on Lake Michigan. I purchased my first cc in 1988. It was/is a 129 with a 1a tiller, front dirt/snow blade, 44" deck, and a 'bolt on 36" snowblower.

What a surprisingly refreshing difference from the 7hp stallion that i was having difficulty keeping going!!!

Most of my cc parts have come through 2 'local' ccc dealers and an outdoor power equipment dealer. As you might have guessed, that means a top $ price tag on everything. But 'the bug' has made that all worthwhile. I've added to my stable over the years with a 169, and a 100 and a 127. None ran when acquired, but with varying amounts of work, all have been brought back to life.

I just last month found this forum and have been enjoying the tons of infromation and the helpful attitudes that the info is delivered with!

WHAT A GREAT, GOOD SPIRITED BUNCH YOU ALL ARE!!!

I look forward to reading all the great info that is on these pages and hope that I might be able to lend some knowledge from my past experiences also.

I'm sorry that I hadn't found this forum years ago, but I'm sure happy now that I've found you!

HAPPY CUBBING TO ALL!!!

FFGino,

FFGino,

Welcome to the Forum. It sounds like you have a nicely rounded collection of IH Cubs. Like everyone, I'd like to see any pictures you'd be willing to share.

FFGino... from a fellow Michigander! I see that you are on the "sunset" side of the state. I am originally from the "sunrise" side but now reside in the lower middle of the LP mitten!
Glad to have you aboard and I agree with the others when I say...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
