Has anyone ever come across a loose compression release lever? I have my K321 apart and the lever seems way too loose. The compression release still works fine it just kind of ticks with every revolution. Is there any harm in putting it in a press and shoring up the rivet holding it to the gear or should I just leave it? I also have a spare cam out of a K241 I could use instead which I believe is the exact same part.

i had that problem ,with a 125 ,the engine would not start ,unless i pulled the drive shaft ,and the buyler was on the way ,so when i rolled the engine buy hand i was able to hear the tick ,over and over ,so i un bolted the engine a and replaced the spring with a new one ,$2.00 from cub dealer ,you can replace the spring with out removing the engine ,just tie a thread on the old spring ,and remove ,after the cam cover is off ,and do the same with with the new spring ,you don,t want it in the pan ,hope this helps .David

That's not really the problem I'm having, the actual lever is loose, there's nothing wrong with the spring.
