Default 782 spark plug

I have a 1983 782 w/a series 2 motor. The question is I have seen the plug for the motor is a rv 15 yc4 and the same plug in a 17 style. I understand the smaller the number the hotter the plug. The question is which is better? the champ. or is there a better plug in another brand that u guys have used. I intend on using this for mowing and possibly other chores(possible tilling and maybe a 3 point?????) I have a 1712 w/a Mag 18 and used e3's in it. Any ideas would be helpful.

I run an autolite copper plug in my John Deere 317 with KT 17 series II. I don't remember the number I will look and post. I like the autolite copper plug better myself, however I'm not sure brand name etc makes any difference.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
