Good day,
Awesome site gentlemen!! it has been very helpful with a couple of other situations I have with my LTS125 with a 12.5 hp Briggs and stratton. My main problem is she wont start, well it will start if the starter would be able to spin it. ![]() So this is what happens, I hit the key and its as if the starter is dragging or the battery is dead. I ahve benched the starter and it spins and has no dead spots or any problems. I have retraced any bad grounds and made sure that they are really good grounds from the engine to frame and battery to frame, solenoid to frame, switch to frame. I have gone thru the wiring back from the starter to the switch and solenoid to the battery and I am always reading 11.8 - 12.2 volts atleast. I have even mounted 2 other starters that I know are in working order. and yet when I hook up the starter and hit the key, I am only getting about 2 volts. I am thinking it may be, the solenoid for reason; is not allowing the total voltage thru when put under a load. I am going to try and bypass the solenoid tonight see what happens.... Any other ideas that I may not have seen are more than welcomed ![]() Thanks again! |

Put a set of jumper cables right to the starter post,(+12V.) and neg to engine,if the starter works good, your problem is in wiring or the sol.
Can't stress too much to check battery connections & GROUND connections. is your battery Good? use your vehicle as a source for the jumper cables |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
