All of our tractors are turned up over 200hp so I don't know what running a stock tractor feels like. My favorite is the 1566 which has over 300hp, it is so powerful we have broke gears in the rear end but have never had it power out. It has unreal uperend power.

I've never been around many "big" IH tractors outside of a M and 460, but as far as current production SCUTs go, I'd much rather pay between $3-5k less for a kubota and get metal fenders and hood, vs. the "poly composite do-hicky plastic" hood and fenders on the current JD offerings.

The 86's were not bad tractors considering they were never supposed to be built The main problem was the wheelbase wasnt long enough. IH was supposed to go straight from the 66 series to the 88 series but the technology wasn't ready yet. Their solution was to take a 88 series cab and put it on a 66 series tractor. Many believe (myself included) that if the technology would have been ready and they would have gone straight from the 66 to the 88 series IH would still be around today.
