Default 2b Tiller

All right gentlemen, having problems with my 2B tiller. It worked fine till I lent it to a buddy. It's bearly going into the ground. Maybe 1" to 2" tops. Normally the guard is bent out towards the back as it tills, but it doesn't seem to be digging in. First would like to know how to adjust the tiller. And second, wondering if he could have bent the tines while going through tough ground? If this is the case, where's the best place to get replacement tines? By the way, my garden get's tilled every year so the ground isn't hard. Thank you for any help.

A couple pictures would be a big help in finding a problem.

A couple things to check
1) lower arms, make sure they're in the UPPER hole for maximum depth.

2) make sure the chain isn't twisted

3) Does the adjustment knob/handle move freely and does the threaded rod move up and down in the hole?

Default Thanks

Jeff, I'll check everything again.

Dwayne, I printed out the manual. Going to go thru it step by step. I think that was a 3 stooges line.

Luke, I had a problem with the 1650 a couple of weeks ago and I lost a pin for the hydraulic lift and my tiller wouldn't go all the way down either. Installed a new pin and back in business!

Default That did it

Looked over everything and spotted that it was hooked up in the lower holes. I must have put it back on wrong. Working much better, but still not going as deep as before. As I said before, the guard was laying flat dragging behind the tiller. She did a heck of good job and now will have to wait till things get planted. Way behind, should have had stuff in the ground 2 weeks ago. Again, thanks all.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
