1572 Transmission Controls (connecting rod)

Hello all. Working on the driveline on my CC 1572 and I see that the connecting rod (no. 13 in the attached diagram, PN 703-0232 , no longer available from CC) is bent at an angle. The diagram illustrates the rod is straight, but could be just illustrative and not really representative of the real form factor. Can anyone who owns a 1572 check and tell me if it is straight or has an angle? Thanks in advance. BTW: as mentioned elsewhere on the site, working on the driveline is a real PITA.

I had an 1872 and the rod was straight. Part number was the same for both models in the parts breakdown. Should be straight.

Here's a pic of mine on my 1772, should be the same on a 1572 and I think all hyro's. It could be that the driveshaft broke at one time and bent yours. Got any pics?

OAK, thanks for posting that pic. I needed to know which way the "flat" faced on that rod, and didn't know how to word the question!!??

I got the answer before I asked!!

I took the 1450 apart and did not note how that rod assembled!!

Thanks for the pic. I noticed the same thing in another threads pictures (from a 2072). And yes, I had a broken drive shaft rear coupling. That no doubt explains it. Anyway, its more or less straight now. And reassembled. Last thing I need to do is get the rear coupler spirol pin in. Working on that drive shaft was, well, interesting.
