Thanks for all of the advice and guidance guys! Not too much this evening, last night I cleaned up the rear end and put primer on it tonight. Have a couple of of pictures of my primer experiment - trying to get the thinner ratio correct.







I painted the driveshaft by sticking it in a hole on the rear end

Default Paint!
Well, it's been a little while - I have been busy prepping the frame and some miscellaneous driveline parts for paint. On Sunday, I shot them all with primer. Used Valspar primer and paint - works and covers pretty well. My theory was that if I got all of this stuff painted, I could put the frame together and get a roller that I could move around the garage while I worked on the other stuff. From the second I shot the first coat of paint on the rear end, I understood why the 982 is a popular model - the best of both worlds!

The frame looked pretty good. I think I did okay for my first major project!


Don't worry, I covered up the holes when I painted the axle tubes


I painted the brake caliper assemblies as well as the front axle and spindles.


Also, the power steering bracket and the brake pedal bracket.

I am too sorry to primer, but, mine will never be out in the weather after I paint them.

Mine too will be kept inside. I am notorious for trying to put too much paint on at once, but I can't seem to find any runs either. I do think I painted a gnat onto the frame - I'll have to pick that little fella out of there.
