Next will be a trip to Farm & Fleet or TSC to see if I can find a longer cat "0" center link .

Looks like I will have to pull the gearbox off the tiller to drain and flush it out. I do not see a drain plug.

.......getting closer!
Your getting there!

Got my cat 0 to cat 1 adapter made today.
I started with a 4" x 6" plate and cut a hole to go over the original cat 0 mount on the tractor. I welded two vertical plates, one on either side of the original tractors cat 0 mount plates.

Next I drilled a 1/2" hole to align with the tractor's cat 0 mount and used a pin to hold the adapter in place on the tractor. Above the 1/2" hole, I drilled a 5/8" hole to accept the cat 1 center link.

Looks like it will work great.

.......next...need to change gear box and chain case oil.

sorry for the bad pics....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
