I thought I had better introduce myself since I am a relatively new member on here as well as Cub owner. I live in central Pa almost smack between Williamsport and State College. My step son Dustin started buying Cubs and I was the one to bring them home on my 18 ft racecar trailer. We have been all over Pa bringing several tractors home. He has a nice 108,149 and now has an 800 he is fixing. He fixed a 1450 that his grandmother bought and then he had the 1200 I recently bought from him. We have worked on them and got many of them running as well as parted several parts tractors. I have been working on cars, trucks, mowers and tractors etc for over 35 years and I was in charge of getting the Cubs fine tuned. The 1200 I have had a seized motor and we had a spare 1450 motor which we then put in this tractor. I knew as soon as we got it running it would be better to plow snow than the small 165 Hydro John Deere I had been using. The JD was my dads and I was hesitant about selling it,but I really don't need 2 mowers here. My yard takes a whole 10 minutes to mow and I primarily will use the Cub for snow duty. I have AG tires and 8.5 rims to use and a good line on a front blade. Eventually,I want to get a creeper drive and spring assist for it. I already have the urge to build a pulling tractor but think I will just keep my drag car to remove that thrill. It's been interesting to learn more about the Cubs and I never fathomed there was such a huge following. I really enjoy working on them and the easiness of repairs. But like a drag car, parts aren't cheap. It will be something Dustin and I can do to hang out together. I am currently building a 24 x 48 garage and I should have a little room to have a few play toys..

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
