I bought it planning to just get it working but my son was out helping me work on it the other night and told me someday it would be his. So I decided to help that happen.

I brought the frame over to get sand blasted. I thought I had a motor for it but upon inspection, the pto shaft was only a 1" diameter. I found this great crankshaft reference to help me avoid wasting time looking at motors that wont work.

I stopped at the sandblasters today to check on my parts and they were sitting right where I had left them.

I picked them up and brought them to another sandblaster who said he'd have them done this weekend.

I bought a sandblaster from sears for about 70$ and a couple of bags of sand and now do not have to wait for someone else to do the job for me. Now if I can convince my son to let me have a turn at it all is well.

I have a small 40lb. pressurized sandblaster but my compressor doesn't keep up with it very well. after about 15-20 mins I'm afraid of burning up the pump. At the rate that thing blasts paint off It would take me 2 months to get it done.

Does anyone know if I can make a kubota 3 cyl out of a 2182 work on this 2072?
I'll have the complete 2182 to swap parts over from.

As long as you also use the Cyclops hood, dash etc. What's wrong with the 2182?

It may work. The 1772 is the same engine,almost but set in there different. Your gonna have a lot of fab work because of the fuel tank, engine cradle, drive shaft, cooling system and probably 20 other things that I can't think of. I would just find a good engine for your 2072. IMHO I think the cyclops tractors (2182) are better then the 82 series but had stupid problems with the paint, electrical and all the panels being plastic. I also think the 2182 is the best gas super ever built. I say rebuild them both, they are both good tractors.

I just got back with the 2182. Other than needing paint desperately It's in great shape. Motor runs good, trans bolts were all tight, shaft is solid. PO said he would grease the bearings in the shaft regularly.
I'm not a big fan of the plastic hood and sides especially with an exhaust pipe coming through it and muffler sitting right next to it.

Trust me it will grow on you the first time you run it. This one is my favorite of the 3 I have.
