Default 2084 Running Badly
I have a problem with my 2084. Tractors acts as if the choke is engaging on its own. Anytime I put a drag on it when mowing or going up a hill, it seems as though the engine gets too much gas and wants to die. And, when I shut it down, it's hard to start back up again when it's still warm. If I remove the air filter when I try to restart it will start up okay. Thanks for any help or ideas.

Carb may need some attention, gas could be crappy, if you engine has the Spark Advance Module AKA SAM it could be going bad. Air filter could be dirty. Hard to say for sure from what you have told us..

And to add to Sam's thinking you could have a ignition coil going bad and the white wire going to those coils could be chewed by mice so there is many things that could be the problem so fire away the questions as my Dad has a 2084 and we have had many of things go wrong but are fixed pretty easy.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was posting that on behalf of my brother. Yesterday he decided to take it to a small engine guy near him. I thought it was a carb thing, but didn't get to look at it much. He's been having trouble with it all summer and just wants to get it going.
