Here is the 1863 PTO Circuit...
In order for the PTO to work, the following conditions have to be met: * PTO Switch in the On position * Someone sitting in the seat * Hydro lever in the Neutral or Forward position If you need or want a high resolution copy of this diagram, please indicate so. It is OK to bypass a switch for testing purposes but for final or permanent operation, all safety devices should be intact and operational.

I bypassed the seat switch to see if it would help with the PTO problem. The tractor started but as soon as I engaged the PTO, the lever would immediately return to the off position unless I held it up. After several tries now it won't even start. I had it in the shop at the beginning of the season and spent over $400, so that is why I am trying to fix it myself. If the PTO switch is bad and in the off position, would it keep it from starting? Thanks for all of your help!
