1730 No Spark
CC 1730 with Kohler MV18S, 17 hp engine. No spark. Can I check the electronic magnetor ignition unit without removing the engine covers and if so what is the procedure? It has ran and cut grass since obtained in June, until I tried to start it week before last. All help appreciated.

Here is the Ignition Diagram for the MV18.
I would start be disconnecting the Yellow (or White) wire from the Ignition Switch and see if the engine will start.

Thanks R Bedell, finally a day with no rain, but still no spark. Using Kohler Service Manual for MV18S, my testing shows it apears the primary circuit is broken. Will attempt to get it checked by mower repair shop tomorrow to confirm my testing and analysis.
