Nice job on the blower. Got my plow and chains all ready for the BX. Now that we have our tools all ready for snow hopefully we won't need them.

Thanks Mike.
And Sam I hope you are wrong about not needing the snow equipment as I just can't wait till I really need all the power on the 2086 just to blow snow. ![]() And Pop and I were talking last night about the blizzard of 93 when we got 37 inches of snow and back then all we had was his 102 with his thrower and just how much work that was to remove those BIG drifts but these 2 stage blowers would be no match but we are still waiting on the big one LOL.

Paul and Eric, the blower looks like brand new, very nice work!
Question - I've been looking for a 451 or 551 blower for either of my tractors, haven't found one reasonably priced, and nothing in my area at all. I've also been emailing a guy that is selling a 149 with a blower (thrower?), not sure what model. Seeing you've used old and new, should I really just hold out and find a 451/551 for my 2084 or 1864? Would I be disappointed with the older unit on the 149?

Dave, I guess it really all depends on what you want, I myself do like the newer two-stage blowers a little better as they don't clog up as easy as the old throwers and they throw twice as far BUT when it comes to not having anything the old throwers work also.

Thanks, sounds like what I was thinking. I wish 451 or 551 blowers weren't so hard to find.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
