Default Lt1018 won't crank or start

I have a 2004 lt1018 cadet. Ran fine all summer, went out to start it and found it dead. Replaced battery and spark plug, but it still won't crank. Battery is 100%, plug is brand new, it's pumping fuel, but still doesn't turn over. I checked all the switches and connections, light turn on and hats about it.

Any help is appreciated

Is the PTO switch off? How about the brake switch or the seat switch? If those check out, there is a starter solenoid behind the dash that went bad on my SLT 1054.

I check all the switches and bypassed the solynoid, the starter kicks on, but it doesn't fire. It acts like one of the switches is stopping it from firing. Any way to bypass the safety switches?

We don't allow explanations of bypassing safety switches to be described here. Too much liability.

If it turns over, it is not a safety switch problem. They do not stop spark, they stop the starting system.

I understand and agree.

The only way to get it to turn over is to bypass the solynoid and it does spark, there is gas, but it wont start. If you turn the key to start it, it just clicks.

I'm about done...I think its time to give up.

The carb has a solenoid that needs to be powered in order to run. The fact that you can crank it and you have spark leads me to think the carb solenoid is not getting power. You can have gas in the carb but if the solenoid is not opening it won't run. You’re going to need to get a copy of the wiring for the tractor and start tracing circuits to see what the issue is. PITA but don't know of any other way to do it.

If you do what Sam says you wont have to worrie about what DA3 says. Just unsrew the celonid from the bowl, youll wanna crimp off the fuel line, and hold the celonid to the frame. Trun the key to the RUN position, not start, it should retract inward, if it dosnt check for power on that wire. Most times they rub against the fins on the jug and short out.

heres what it looks like, this one is off a 2 barrel briggs. Just leave it hooked up and hold it on the block and see if it moves. You may need to take an old 1/2 inch wrench and grind it down to fit in the tight spot. I use tappet wrenches.
