took the side panels off to day to do some end of season cleanup and repair. got to looking at my blade with narrow frame mount, and decided to measure to make a new mount. while measuring I found that the front tabs on the mount would just slide right up on the inside of the quick attach slots.
Blade.jpg so I got to ![]() I cut a piece of rebar and slide it thru the top bolt holes on the mount and it locked right in place. the rear arms went right on the footrest cross piece like they should. I attached the blade to the mount and locked it in place. I set the blade 3 inches off the ground and put the lift most of the way up and measured for a lift rod. 102902_1803[01].jpg I found a threaded clevis and welded it to a length of rebar and bent it to clear the frame, heated the lower end and bent it 90 degrees to go into the lift bracket on the blade. with the clevis I have about 2 inches of adjustment up or down. the lift bracket just clears the tractor frame. ![]() the lift rod does flex some where bent and if needs more strength I plan to lay another rebar along the bottom of the bend and welt them together. just some finnish up items to do like drill holes for cotter pins and maybe a little paint. the blade needs blasted and painted, it has been sitting out behind my shop since I took it off my old 102 20 years ago ![]() gonna try it out in a day or so on some gravel speading on the drive. Need to make a set of chains for the tractor to, have some old truck ones I think I will cut down to fit. ![]() 102902_1818[00].jpg now to fix my oil leaks that the days plan started out to be. Sorry My pics didnt come out in the order I wanted them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
