I own a 1966 Cub Cadet 71 and am looking into getting new tires. I’d like to get some ribbed on the front and some bars on the rear. I can find plenty of 6-12 bar tires for the rears. I can’t seem to find any ribbed 4.80x4.00-8 tires. Can I jump up in the height of the tire to a more common size while keeping the same rims? I assume I would need to increase the height of the rear tire as well?
Thanks, Kyle |

You can get them here and other places. I buy from him because i am not to far and can drive there. What is nice about the small tires he sells is he puts tubes in them and airs them up so they do not arrive all flat and distorted , but i don't think the tubes are included. He also has this size in an import tire that is cheaper. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
