I am swapping my plow from my 1250 hydro lift to the 1200 I got running today. The PO of the 1250 modified the sub frame so it fit outside the frame in the narrow slot between the frame and foot pads. It wont fit this way on the 1200. From the manual it appears the sub frame slots hook onto the footrest rod between the frame. I cut the braces off that the PO welded on to spread the frame and used a ratchet strap to pull it together enough to fit between the frame, The problem is , no matter where I mount the rear of the frame , it interferes with the lift rod and the deck hanger brackets. I must be missing something. If I mount it between the hangers it will slide side to side depending on the force on the blade. Then I need to kick the sub frame over to get the lift arm to drop. I think I have been at it to long . The good news is I got the 1200 all back together and it popped off with a couple cranks and purrs like a kitten. I have only gaped the points and did not use a timing light yet. Set the Carb per the rough settings in the book and it seems about perfect. I do have way to much voltage at the battery when running though.

I think I am missing something... Would it be possible to send us some pictures and perhaps some measurements?

The rear of the blade fits on the foot rest rod. I finally had time to put the blade on my 149 today. This blade was orginally used on a 1450 Cub Cadet. I have a few pictures that may help you. The first one is the measurement on the outside of the frame rail. ![]() Several diffeent views/angles of the rear blade mount: ![]() Right side (sitting on the seat): ![]() Left side (sitting on the seat): ![]() Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anymore pictures. |

Thanks Merk, thats exactly what I needed. I figured the po modfied it to fit the wide frame. It actually had a couple 2" pieces of flat stock welded towards the top of where it mounts to the rod. He actually bent it apart to fit between the frame and the foot beds . Outside the frame. Worked on the 1250 because the hydr lift did not interfere. Must have been easier for him to line up with out getting down and looking under the tractor, who knows. But now that I am mounting it on the 1200, I cut the braces off and pulled it together with a ratchet strap and rewelded a brace to hold it there. I have it mounted as shown in your pic . Had to bend the rail a bit to clear the lift bracket . This frame is pretty tweaked from the po bending it for what ever reason. I had to cut the front locking pin brackets off , mount the plow and reweld the pin hangers in so it would all fit. Hopefully all will work as we have a major snowstorm coming. Both are ready , the 1250 with the blower and the 1200 with the plow right behind her.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
