Default 1969 Cub 104 - new member cab pictures

I just joined the forum, and am amazed at the amount of useful information on this site and passion its members have for their Cubs. Seeing how everyone seems to like pictures, I thought I would share some recent pictures of my 1969 Cub Cadet 104 in "winter form."

The Cub was purchased new by my grandfather, then passed to my Dad (used by me since the age of 7), and then to me late last year. It is all original, including most of the paint (hood is also original paint). Attachments include a QA36 snowthrower, an all steel and aluminum snow cab made specifically for the cub (originally had the steel frame with soft sides and back - Dad made the aluminum sides with safety glass in the early 70's and added the electric wiper, radio, defroster, and front and rear plow lights), an original paint #2 utility trailer, an IH blade/plow, and a 42 inch deck mower.

It all needs a gentle cleanup that I will give it this winter, but has been used without any major issues for over 40 years, and I plan to continue that family tradition. Once I get the cab off this spring and pull the other attachments out of the shed, I will post more pictures.

Very , very nice. Goes to show you how a little regular TLC will keep these tractors in good shape forever.

Beautiful cab.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
