Cub CUTS and SUBCUTS

Is there a forum or site that would list the various Cub compact and sub-compact tractors, list the years built, engines, specs, etc? I'm looking to get a handle on the various 7000 series models, 5000 series, have not found a resource yet.

Thanks for the link. I'm on MTF at times, so was aware of the Cub CUT and SUBCUT forums there. The posting is pretty thin, and there's no reference section with info. I'll read through there and try to put together my own list of tractors I guess.

It seems like not too many of us Cub GT owners also own the slightly bigger cousins. I'm looking for a machine to move some snow with a bucket, need something a bit bigger and heavier and want 4WD.

If you are looking at buying a Cut or a Scut, just my 2 cents but I'd go Orange or Green.

Honestly get a JD x5 or X7 series. Loaders are available as is 4wd. My dad rarely touches his full size tractor with a loader anymore. Pushes 12" of snow without chains with the plow.

from people I've talked to and who've had them, the 5000 series was either a cherry pie or a lemon. If you got one with the Kohler gas, it was too underpowered, the diesels did decent, but just overall quality control problems. They did look pretty neat as they were a basic copy of the 25XX GT series.

The JD X5 and X7 series are good but expensive. They are also not much bigger than a GT. If you check out http://www.tractorhouse.com/ you will see that the JD’s are in the lawn mower section while the Cut’s and Scut’s are in the under 40HP section. To me if I can get a larger machine of equal or better quality for the same kind of $$$ I’m going for the bigger one. I know what I’ve done with my BX and no way the X series JD’s would have been up to the task. I’m not putting the JD’s down and if I was buying a new one today the 1026R would get a SERIOUS look.

I'm not ruling out different colors! I've looked at a few green ones as well. I'm looking to spend around $7,000 or less for diesel 4WD tractor plus loader plus 3 pt. I need to move snow piled up from plowing at a commercial building, don't need a huge machine. A CUT might be ideal, but I'm not ruling out a SUB-CUT as I need to clear entryways as well.

One primary decision is gear or hydro, and from what I've seen so far I'll probably get a heavier machine with more capability in my price range if I go gear. Then, do I go mid to late '90's or move into the 2000's which makes it pretty hard to find a machine in my price range.

I'd like a CC just from a yellow loyalty standpoint. I've ruled out the 5000's, but some of the 7000 series seem to get solid reviews from people. What I find is that I know the GT series numbers so well, yet I see all these 7000 model numbers and don't have a clue what tractor has what features, will have to dig to find info.

Just to avoid the hassle of shifting, or too much wear on a clutch? I've driven a couple of different gear shift FEL's in the past, but moving dirt and scrap material, not snow.
