Yes - it has headlights and a nice IH logo between them too. The dash is in great shape, though no hour meter - which I like. Who said something like, "how old would you be if you didn't know how old you were."

I've mentioned to different folks that the only thing I don't like about hydro's is that in my neck of the woods, I've got about 10 to 20 yards of flat for constant speed with the hydro and then its up or down and I get infinite speeds faster or slower and I've got to correct it, so I have my hand on the hydro lever seemly at all times - LOL! I converted my two Wheelhorse hydro tractors to foot control, but with a gear drive, I've got cruise control regardless of the terrain. This 126 is a nice gear drive combo with power and gas economy, constant speed and if I need more speed control, I can add a creeper and if I need more than the arm strong lift, I can add an electric lift. I also like this hood style (for me) most among all the IH Cub Cadets.

Thanks!
Bill

The 126 doesn't have a trunion..

The 126 is in my humble opinion is the best norrow frame tractor ever built. I love mine, even though its in pieces right now..

They were an option on all the 1X6 & 1X7 except for the 147 and to find a correct set in good condition will lighten the wallet.

That or it had a Rube Goldberg device hooked up to it that raised the hood in a unique way! Got to be one the of the most unique PO repairs that I have seen. Nonetheless, you got a 126 that appears to be in good, restoreable shape--Congratulations!

Love mine, but sits outside, with no back tires and engine or drive shaft.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
