Default Thoughts on Original Value?

May swing up and look at an original. Owner says it ran when parked, but it's been sitting for a few years. It looks pretty nice paintwise and I'll assume nothing is majorly wrong with it, like the engine turns over just fine and such, but we'll see when if I go take a look.

Doesn't look like it has rear lift. Also comes with 3 mower decks (he says out of the 3 decks, 2 complete ones can be made).

A cub cadet original running with deck sold nearby a few weeks ago for $450 obo in similar shape, but did not have fenders. I'm kinda gauging it's worth around that price. The owner is asking a bit more than that right now, I just would like some input on a good offer.

Any input on a good offer? Thanks!

The price goes as high as the amount CAS syndrome it relieves!!

$450 + $150 for the fenders, BUT, I would want to at least crank it with jumper cables and hopefully hear it try to start with some gas thrown in the carb!!

I like to have at least one just to enjoy lookin' at!!

They ain't all got to earn their keep!!

To me 450 is a good offer. I"ll buy them all day at that price with the fenders. Looks clean. Shouldn't take much to get it running.

You can easily have $100+ each in a mower deck easily. That coupled with the fenders, I think it's a decent deal. If you can get it to jump at the site then jump all over that price.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
