Exclamation Overheating 1250

My yard was really long today, I mowed for about 20 mins and noticed the engine jerking, I tuned off the PTO and lowered the gas and then it worked good until about two minutes later and kept repeating the process.

My guess is it is not getting enough gas for some reason.

Yup, does it have enough in the tank? Sounds crazy, but I've ran it out before thinking it had more in it than it did.

I will look for a gas issue but like I said it seems to happen after 20 mins of mowing, it sounds too simple of an issue..lol

could the gas cap be causing a vapor lock on the fuel?

Found the problem, I bought this last year and never took off the side covers today I had some time so I did, only to find the air filter cover barely screwed on and lopsided! I sprayed a half a can if carb cleaner in the carb(lol) started it up and it ran all afternoon without an issue!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
