Well with the rain today looked like a day to get some cub work done on the 1811 and the new 1872. With my little buddy and future cub mechanic Grandson overseein the work we got a lot done.
![]() I had a pin in the driveshaft break and didnt have time to wait on new ones, so we took out the shaft and replaced all the pins with bolts and lock nuts. then as we are about done he shows me I slid the fan on backwards so we had to take it out again and turn it around. ![]() He made sure and double checked all the bolts and it all went together well and runs smooth. ![]() the project on the 1872 is going slowly, I have the motor back in and all bolted up. tried to start it today and the starter died on us. so we got it off and ready to put a new one on to try again in a few days.

just to warn you the bolts are just a little smaller and if left in there they will wear your drive line out and super parts are very hard to get and pricey

i used the bolts on the 1811, i have a complete spare drive line if I need it. I used metric bolts and run a number bit thru the holes first, they were a tight fit. I had to tap them in with a hammer. they were a very snug fit, I plan on checking them often for any loosening up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
