317 190 Mower deck Spindle seals?
I am rebuilding my spindles on the mower deck of my 1864.
The bearings are common Timken Set 2s. Can anyone tell me what seal it uses - preferably a Timken or National number? Also, I saw a mention that the seals are to be oriented in a non-standard way, but no details. Could it be that they should have the "open" side facing out, opposite from the way you would do a car's front wheel seal?

I took my old seal to Advance and they crossed it to a National number. The number is on the edge of the seal. If I recall, the lower seal is put in backwards so grease can escape, but I didn't know that and put mine on the other way. I don't have the number and mine may be different than yours anyway. (different deck I think). Somebody else will have to confirm the "proper" orientation of the seals.
