a three jaw pulley puller, a little heat from oxygen acetylene torches, and a good impact on the puller and that steering wheel won't stand a chance. thats the nice thing about the original/70/100 steering wheels they had that metal part around the shaft that the puller can bite into. just make sure you heat the actual steering wheel and not the steering shaft itself. otherwise youll be expanding the steering shaft with the steering wheel and will get no where.

The O wheel
I'll have to take a picture of the oak wheel puller block I modeled after the one Matt documented. I got the wheel so hot the spokes began to blacken the wood AND I got the nuts tight enough so that the spokes dug into the oak about 3/16" deep.
I'll have to retry the 3 jaw puller and heat. I think there's about 1/4 can of PB on that thing and I still can't get it to budge. I'll have to run a nut down on the shaft to keep the puller from deforming the column. I'm telling ya, this thing is ON there! Heat, PB , pressure AND some good whacks with a sledge with knees pulling up just for good measure. I've even said some words to it ...... John PS: Alan you can come up any time and hold the tractor down while I pull up on the wheel!
