I already answered your question in another post.

the 148650100 is a 1810 built in 1988.

yeller1

The date you describe is a "Julian Date" it is used in industry the way they are set up varies from company to company, they usually depict the shift it was made, the day of the year and the year. In your case I'm guessing, 3rd shift, March 19, to me the "G" would indicate the 7th year of the decade, but I'm not about to dispute what Roland says, he knows a damn sight more than I ever will.

BTW, if Roland tells you something weather it's what you want to hear or not, weather it's here or "over there", your best bet is to take it to the bank... The guy knows what he's talking about.

The Serial Number on the Chassis Tag will actually tell you the Month and Year the tractor was made. The "148" tells me it was part of the 1988 production, and that is far as is goes.

Mfg Date C078G
I have never seen a code explanation for this data. Maybe Myron could expand on this one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
