K-241 rod help
So im working on making 1 good k241 out of 2. the one i want to use has a good bore and a piston but the rod is broke and from low oil, so i bought a scored short block to remove the rod from i did this then i cleaned up the crank and the rod cap doesnt fit like it should is there any markings on the rods that say if they are undersized or will i need to buy some gauges

You can look it up in the manual...
But I believe if it is a kohler rod(not aftermarket) which you can tell by the part number. Undersized rod is a drilled hole in the web. Mic the crank- can you not use the rod/crank combo out of the short block? Make sure the rod journal is smooth an clean. New it measure 1.500 inches. Michael

well it turned out it has a drilled hole in the webing like you said thank you for that info no i can stop polishing the other crank. reason for not using the hole crank and rod, i didn.t want to have to buy a complete gasket set and have to pull that rusty clutch of again thank you very much
